Turner Valley RCMP are trying to track down a man captured on camera robbing a pharmacy in Black Diamond on March 30.
According to an RCMP press release, a man was captured on Sandul’s Pharmacy’s surveillance system just before 5 p.m. on March 30 entering through the back door. He proceeded to the dispensary where the medication is kept and he pulled a knife on the staff.
“He made a demand and the employees just stepped out of the way,” said Turner Valley RCMP Cpl. Tiffany McGregor, also the acting sergeant. “No one was injured. The store wasn’t busy at the time and they closed it temporarily afterwards.”
The culprit gained access to the safe and removed various narcotic drugs before fleeing out the back door and down the alley heading south.
McGregor said the staff took the right steps in this situation.
“They did exactly what they were supposed to do,” she said. “They didn’t intervene. We don’t want to see anybody get hurt.”
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his 20s and approximately six feet tall.
He was wearing a dark blue hoodie, grey sweatpants, black gloves, a black backpack, white and black running shoes, dark sunglasses and a light-coloured bluish-grey toque.
