LETTER: Carbon tax supporter questioned

The federal government has not done one study to determine any change in CO2 emissions since the introduction of the carbon tax.

Dear Editor,

Re: If carbon tax isn't the answer, what is?, March 20

I read Roger Gagne's letter which indicated that he is in favour of a carbon tax. That is his prerogative but on what authority does he speak?

Does he understand that Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault has admitted that he knows very little about the oil and gas industry and that the federal government has not done one study to determine any change in CO2 emissions since the introduction of this tax.

Has Gagne attempted to research global studies that will prove that "climate change" is not a man-made situation but is the result of the vagaries of Mother Nature through the centuries. And he should be aware that CO2 is 100 per cent critical for all life on the planet.

Of course, your publication has the right to publish all and every submission, but perhaps you should include a disclaimer that indicates that opinions are not necessarily truths. Thank you.
