High River RCMP was able to safely end a high speed chase Tuesday night after getting a heads up from Calgary's police chopper. At around 8:40 p.m., HAWCS helicopter alerted Okotoks and High River RCMP of a speeding vehicle leaving Calgary south on Highway 2. Units were able to locate the vehicle on the highway near High River where police attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and pursuit was initiated, continuing through Nanton and Claresholm before heading east to Vulcan. Mounties were able to lay spike strips and disable the car just as it hit Highway 2 again just north of Granum by around 11 p.m. Several RCMP units were on the scene and three suspects were taken into custody in a high-risk arrest. One adult male, an adult female, and a female youth, all from Calgary, were arrested and transported to the High River RCMP detachment, where Calgary Police took custody. TJ Keith Bradley, 23, of Calgary is charged with 10 offences, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by a peace officer, and possession of methamphetamine, among others. The 17-year-old female youth was also charged in connection with the incident but won't be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The third subject, the adult female, was taken into custody but not charged. RCMP members from various detachments, including Nanton, Okotoks, High River, Vulcan, Claresholm, as well as Police Dog Services and Calgary Police's HAWCS helicopter all worked in conjunction to bring the vehicle to a stop and safely apprehend the suspects.
