There will be an international flavour when friends break bread to promote getting along with one another.

Foothills Community Integration Services and the Baha'i Faith Community are hosting an international pot-luck supper at 6 p.m. on March 21 at the Foothills Centennial Centre.

The supper is being held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

“We want to bring attention that we can live together in love and peace without any kind of discrimination,” said Sepah Mazloum of the Baha'i Faith Community.

He said that would include all discrimination whether it be based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and others.

The Baha'i Faith believe “The Earth is one country, and mankind its citizens.” Mazloum added the supper and day have added significance in light of the recent border and immigration concerns in the United States.

The evening will include a pot-luck supper with dishes from around the planet.

The guest speakers include Okotoks Mayor Bill Robertson and Dianne Doyle-Lynch.

Doyle-Lynch made a passionate video promoting acceptance among all earlier this year.

The video received attention across Canada. For information concerning the pot-luck supper call 403-938-4699.
