Regrettably, the Kananaskis Country bus tour had to be cancelled due to insufficient interest. As it turned out, the weather wasn’t all that good, but Dale and Joe had done a lot of leg work to get it organized. We are fortunate to have such a capable events chairperson. Perhaps next year.
There are several bridge tournaments coming up: Carseland on Oct. 6 and Okotoks and District on Oct. 15. There are posters about both of these events on the board. There is also a ladies luncheon and bridge day at the High River Legion on Oct. 20. The contact for this event is Sherry at 403-652-3111 or email [email protected]. I attended this event last year and it is well worth the $25 fee.
All of our activities are back on track with the exception of line dancing. The startup date is Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. If you are a beginner, don’t be intimidated. We have all levels of dancers and it isn’t a competition. We just have a lot of fun and it’s a good workout.
There are still tickets available for the Thanksgiving dinner on Oct. 2. The silent auction tables are filling up very quickly, so come and take a look and place your bids.
I have just read Tumbleweeds by Leila Meacham. I highly recommend it. I got it from our library.
