I had a three-event day on Thursday. I attended the senior’s luncheon at the lodge, which was very nice, then I joined the garden club for a wonderful afternoon with Louise Bruns on her family’s heritage homestead.

Thursday is the regular duplicate evening at Okotoks seniors and Denis and I attend whenever we can.

Four of us went to Strathmore on Wednesday for their bridge tournament. It was fun and such a lovely drive.

The countryside is so beautiful right now with the hedgerows of lilac in bloom.

The wild roses are starting to flower and the lupines are glorious.

June is wildflower month.

The festival from June 15–20 in Waterton sounds like an event to experience. Waterton is often called the Wildflower Capital of Canada. Go to www.watertonwildflowers.com or call 1-877-780-1996.

We enjoyed the afternoon at Griffiths Centre on Saturday.

The meeting was short, but informative and the barbeque was delicious.

I love the Griffiths Centre. It is the epitome of small town friendliness.

The lilacs at Valley Neighbours are lovely.

If anyone would like to pick some, please feel free. Lilacs flourish if they are picked.

The crabapple tree which was destroyed during the winter snow removal has been replaced, and I have been giving it lots of water.

Ross will fertilize the lawn in the very near future.

Haven’t the rains been fortuitous?

As long as we can dodge the hail.
