Kinsmen Park needed for recreational use

For the last two weeks I’ve been in a dilemma trying to understand why the powers that be at town hall would consider a tiny village in Kinsmen Park.

For the last two weeks I’ve been in a dilemma trying to understand why the powers that be at town hall would consider a tiny village in Kinsmen Park.

They have been informed that this is already a high density area with dozens of children and the park is the only green space at this end of town. Perhaps they aren’t aware that, apart from organized soccer, the children play pick-up games of football, soccer, Frisbee and fly kites with mom and dad.

The recent immigrant children from southern climes enjoy the snow. I’ve watched them play there for hours on end. We also have dog walkers, cross-country skiing and joggers, to name a few.

This park is truly an important part of our community and must not be taken away from us.

I hope that saner heads prevail and that Kinsmen Park is left as is.
