High River RCMP responded to the scene at about 7:15 on Nov. 1. Two vehicles and a grain truck were involved in the incident north of the High River overpass.

“It’s a fatal motor vehicle collision,” said High River RCMP Staff Sergeant Brent Hawker. “We have one deceased at the scene and we have one female that was transported to hospital.”

According to EMS, the adult male driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The female, a woman in her sixties, was driving the SUV and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 2 remained closed while a collision reconstructionist attended the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
