Hail halts Game 1

Mother Nature hit the Seaman Stadium field harder than a Kellen Marruffo line drive in the opening game of the WMBL playoffs. Tonight’s Game 1 between the Edmonton Prospect and the Dawgs was suspended after 3 1/2 innings when hail pelted the field.

Tonight’s Game 1 between the Edmonton Prospect and the Dawgs was suspended after 3 1/2 innings when hail pelted the field.

The Prospects had a 3-0 lead when play was called. The Dawgs had got their first hit, a single by Elliott Cary, off Noah Gapp to lead off the bottom of the fourth. Cary then stole second.

Play will resume tomorrow at 4 p.m. with Cary standing on second and the Dawgs down by three with nobody out.

Game 2 will follow the game.
