The 2016 Grand Slam of Curling in Okotoks is less than a month away. This is the second event in the Grand Slam of Curling season and the top curling teams in the world will be in town to compete. This is a historic event in Okotoks that will be watched across the nation.

There are lots of great things about social media. Staying in touch with friends and family, seeing different opinions on things from many different people and hilarious cat videos.
It has become a very powerful part of our society and with the good also comes some bad.
I recently heard a comment from someone who was thinking about starting a business in Okotoks but has been turned off from doing so because of negative thinking on some social media groups focused on Okotoks. This person’s perception is that “If you do one wrong thing everyone jumps all over you.”
I don’t believe that to be true but that was their impression from social media. The Okotoks I live in is an incredibly positive place where people help each other to succeed.
