Our final ladies bridge luncheon of 2016 was last Thursday. We will be looking for a new caterer in the new year as Donna Armstrong had a serious accident. We send our best wishes. It was lovely to have Donna with us for the day.
Following an absence from the community of some 20 odd years, the Okotoks Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion celebrates its second anniversary on Oct. 29. The former Branch #163 is now Branch #291 in Alberta/NWT. While activities are still somewhat limited, our meetings and Thursday games nights are usually well attended.
The Okotoks Minor Hockey Association presented a $200,000 cheque to town council on Monday to go towards the expansion of the Pason Centennial Arena. That is an incredible donation and it will be a huge help towards making the expanded Pason Centennial Arena a facility we can all be proud of. Congratulations and thank you to the Okotoks …
The Fire Services Open House last Saturday was amazing. I went to check it out with my youngest daughter Violet and we had a great time. When it was time to go she wouldn’t leave. I said, “We need to go home for lunch.” She said, “No we don’t. They have hot dogs right here!”
