What is an RSS Feed?

  • RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a format that websites use to send out their newest content.
  • Subscribing to a RSS feed means you can receive fresh content automatically without having to visit a website over and over again. It appears as a list, or even a bookmark in your web browser and updates with the newest content.
  • Western Wheel offers many RSS feeds: we have a feed for the whole site, for each of our sections, our subsections and even for each author. So try one out and get just the stories you want, delivered to you.
  • In order to view an RSS feed you need a feed reader. All modern web browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 7/8) already come with this functionality and allow you to view feeds within the browser itself. You can also view feeds through a web-based interface or a desktop application, if you so choose.
