Three homes damaged in Okotoks fire

Okotoks Fire & Rescue extinguishes blaze that damaged three homes on Cimarron Grove Way.

Three houses on Cimarron Grove Way were damaged yesterday (April 17) after a fire broke out in the evening.

"I just looked out my window, I saw a bunch of smoke and then I noticed that the shed and the fence were on fire," said resident Andrea Sorley. "And then I went and grabbed my cats and I ran out front and got them safe."

Sorley said the fire started around 6 p.m. and was extinguished about 30 minutes later.

The cause hasn't been determined.

"The fireman that we talked to said that it looked like it was contained," said Sorley. "So maybe it started in their shed or maybe the electrical box, but they don't know for sure."

The Wheel has reached out to Okotoks Fire & Rescue for more information.

More updates will be provided as they become available.
