Young people becoming true leaders

Dear Editors,

I read with great interest the coverage of the “Leaders of Tomorrow” awards. It was so wonderful to hear about the accomplished and kind students who were honoured this year. I wanted to extend my sincerest congratulations.

I am writing with an update about a former “Leader of Tomorrow”, my brother Alexander Purdy, who was a recipient in the late 1990s. I believe that this award launched his exciting trajectory. He is, in fact, a “Leader of Today”.

Since receiving the award he continued his commitment to leadership. He attended Harvard Business School where was awarded a Baker Scholarship for exceptional academic performance and, staying true to his prairie roots, he is now the Director of Precision Agriculture Technology and Strategy for John Deere. Most importantly, he is still the kind of caring and kind man that the narratives in your most recent issue paint.

I am so glad that these young individuals have been recognized for their efforts and want them to know that this is just the beginning of their very bright futures!

Regards,

Eve Purdy
