Western Wheel Weekend

I am excited to announce that the Western Wheel Weekend edition will look and feel a lot like the Wednesday edition starting this Friday, March 10.

I am excited to announce that the Western Wheel Weekend edition will look and feel a lot like the Wednesday edition starting this Friday, March 10.

The Western Wheel Weekend is shifting from an arts, lifestyle and entertainment format to a local news format. We will continue to report on the local arts scene, lifestyle and entertainment topics in the Western Wheel and Western Wheel Weekend, but the Weekend publication will now also include news articles.

This is a vibrant community and region with so many things happening all the time.

The Western Wheel team will deliver professional coverage of the local news to you two times a week so that we can all stay informed and up to date.

On a much less positive note, it has been brought to the Western Wheel’s attention that someone involved with an Instagram account may be contacting people claiming to be a reporter.

The Western Wheel was contacted by an Okotoks mother who said her son was contacted by someone over Instagram from an account she believed was connected to the Western Wheel.

The incident has been reported to RCMP and is under investigation.

The Western Wheel does not have an account on Instagram.

The Western Wheel maintains social media accounts on Facebook at Okotoks Western Wheel and on Twitter @OKWesternWheel. All accounts are in alignment with Western Wheel branding.

Western Wheel reporters may contact people regarding articles through personal social media accounts, as well as by phone or email.

Anyone contacted regarding a potential article for the Western Wheel who has questions can contact our offices at 403-938-6397.
