We, the Take a Stand for Kananaskis and the Upper Highwood, sincerely thank the mayor and council of Okotoks for their support to contact the Premier, ministers, and cabinet members of Alberta regarding logging at the Highwood Junction.
Mayor and council are also concerned about the protection of the watershed, wildlife, aesthetic values of this area for tourism and long-term impacts clear cutting will have on economic development in our communities.
Their decision to support us also shows that they want to support quiet recreation activities in and along Highway 40, 940, 541 and all of Kananaskis Country. Many residents in the Foothills area and all of Alberta applaud your decision to protect this beautiful Alberta wild land.
