The first annual Okotoks Outlaws Peewee Baseball Tournament sponsored by the Western Wheel runs Friday, July 1 to Sunday, July 3.

We have teams traveling in from Saskatoon, Sherwood Park, Cranbrook, Strathmore and Calgary. They will be playing Friday at Riverside Park and Good Shepherd School, Saturday and Sunday at the Okotoks Recreation Centre and Good Shepherd School, with the championship game on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Okotoks Recreation Centre. All the teams have been provided tickets to the Dawgs Canada Day game and I’m sure they will be amazed at the crowd in attendance! We hope to make this tournament an annual event, including all levels of Outlaw baseball next year.

We hope to have lots of folks come out to watch the Outlaws Peewee Tournament in Okotoks! These boys are playing incredibly well this season and we would love some hometown cheering!

The Outlaws organization has over 800 kids registered in all its programs. This includes baseball and softball with boys and girls teams. They are doing an amazing job promoting the sport, and we have some of the best facilities around to play in. Go Outlaws!

I feel like a kid before Christmas, only 19 more sleeps until the Okotoks Rotary, Foothills Golf Classic Charity Golf Tournament!

The tournament is July 11 at the D’Arcy Ranch Golf Course. This is a special year as this is the 25th annual Foothills Golf Classic and it just gets better and better every year. The day starts with lunch and registration at 11:30 a.m. The Clear Lake Hutterite Colony donates the most delicious Traditional Hutterite smokies for the lunch. If you miss the tournament you can get some smokies at the Okotoks Sobeys. After lunch there is some time to warm up on the practice facilities before the main event. The golf tournament has a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

There are huge prizes if you are lucky enough to sink a hole in one.

If you like to have fun, enjoy good food and don’t mind being on a golf course, then this is the event for you.

It’s not too late to register and be a part of this. You can register online at www.okotoksrotary.ca or just call me at 938-NEWS and I’ll get you signed up.
