The Sheep Creek Arts Council Rhubarb Festival Tea, Bake Sale and Quilt Show is coming up this Saturday, June 3.
It is held each year in conjunction with the Diamond Valley Parade in Black Diamond and Turner Valley’s Discovery Days.
Take a break from the heat of the day and stop in to the Valley Neighbour’s Club to enjoy a slice of rhubarb pie or a plate of rhubarb crisp served with coffee, tea, or punch for $5.
The Bake Sale and Quilt Show are set to begin at 11 a.m., and the Tea runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Quilt Show will be set up in the Art’s Council space, and admission is by donation.

The Rhubarb Festival’s Bake Sale is a perennial favorite that you don’t want to miss, with goodies galore (rhubarb and non-rhubarb recipes) for you to take home with you.
All funds raised from the Rhubarb Festival go back to supporting arts programming in our community.
The Sheep Creek Arts Council held its AGM on April 23, and we are thrilled to welcome new members to our Board of Directors.
Renowned artist, and the most recent addition to our instructor’s list, Chester Lees has joined the board, bringing a wealth of knowledge to our club.
We also want to wish a warm welcome to Hazel Martin, Community Events Coordinator at the Town of Turner Valley, who is taking initiative to develop programming for Alberta Culture Days at the end of September.
We are also extraordinarily grateful to have another new key member on board, Cathie Dallas, who has taken on the primary responsibility for organizing the Rhubarb Festival this year.
