An Okotoks man faces a list of charges after more than $50,000 worth of stolen lawn care equipment was recovered on a rural property.

At approximately 11:50 p.m. on June 20, Okotoks RCMP responded to rural property near Secondary Highway 552 east of Okotoks after receiving a complaint of a stolen truck and trailer.

Investigation revealed the truck and an attached utility trailer were stolen from a business on Fisher Street in Okotoks earlier that evening.

“There was some damage to the vehicle, there was more damage to the fence and the property it was taken from,” said Okotoks RCMP Cpl. Leanne Beattie.

The trailer was loaded with more than $50,000 worth of lawn-care equipment, including a riding mower. It was all unloaded on a rural property near 112 Street East in the Okotoks area.

The Okotoks RCMP’s General Investigative Section obtained a search warrant for the property where they recovered the lawn equipment.

Beattie said the property has all been returned to its owner.

Tanner Moeskau, 24, of Okotoks is facing several charges, including break and enter to a business, possession of stolen property over $5,000, failure to comply with probation and a recognizance order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence. He is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on June 24.
