Okotoks’ annual Show and Shine is ready to roll this weekend, and it’s shaping up to be a great event.
About 500 vehicles will line the downtown streets for the event, with something for car buffs of all stripes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13.
It’s always popular, bringing thousands of car buffs each year to Okotoks’ Olde Towne area.
The Okotoks Kinsmen are organizing the event for the first time this year.
Check out the drag racing demonstration on Elizabeth Street featuring Dark Side Racing out of Calgary. There will also be live music, food and plenty of automotive-related vendors.
Everything gets rolling a day early with a poker rally and cruise on Aug. 12 starting at 6 p.m. at NAPA Auto and ending at the George. Keep an eye out for a variety of custom, vintage vehicles around town.

There’s a softer side to the Show and Shine.
Head down to Rumpled Quilt Skins for the annual Quilt Stroll from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’ll be some beautiful creations on display, and a few available to buy as well.
