Turner Valley RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to locate three men who they believe attempted to rob a Priddis home last week.

According to the RCMP, three men knocked on the door of a Hawks Landing residence in Priddis at 8:30 a.m. on May 9. When no one answered, the suspects kicked the locked door in to gain entry and were confronted by a young man making his way to the door, said Cpl. Tiffany McGregor.

The suspects fled the scene in what was described as a newer model black Honda four door sedan.

No one was injured and nothing was taken from the home.

“They were startled obviously by finding someone there,” she said. “The suspects bolted out the door.”

The men were described as Caucasian and approximately 30 to 40 years old.

Police were contacted immediately and patrolled the surrounding neighbourhoods to no avail.

McGregor said there have been other break ins in the rural area, but she is unsure if they are related to these individuals.

Any residents who find themselves in a similar situation, McGregor advises they avoid putting themselves in danger by being non confrontational, doing what’s asked of them and calling 911.

“We tell people do what they ask, don’t be a hero, make safety the first thing, give them what they want,” she said. “In most situations, a criminal being startled when they don’t think anyone is there would do exactly what these suspects did and flee.”
