Raiders shot down by Arrows in Minto opener

The Raiders had a narrow 5-4 lead after 40 minutes, but were unable to stop the potent Six Nations’ offence in the final period.

After the two teams exchanged goals in the opening minutes of the third, the Arrows’ aim was true.

Six Nations scored four consecutive goals to take a 9-6 lead with eight minutes remaining.

The Raiders would close the gap to 9-7 when Brett McIntyre scored his fourth goal of the evening with just over four minutes left. Also scoring for the Raiders in the loss were Dylan Kinnear, Jake Foster and Cam Wengreniuk.

Raiders goalie Kevin Orleman had a busy night in net stopping 51 of 60 shots.

The Raiders’ next game is this afternoon against the high-powered Coquitlam Adanacs.

The Adanacs downed the Mimico Mountaineers 8-6 last night.
