RCMP are turning to the public for assistance in finding a missing Okotoks man after searches in Banff National Park have come up empty.

Kevin Sadownyk, 51, was last seen at approximately 10 a.m. on April 24 at his wife’s home in Okotoks. His vehicle was found abandoned on Minnewanka Road at 4 p.m. on April 25.

RCMP and Parks Canada conducted thorough searches of the area near where the white Ford pick-up truck was located. However, they failed to turn up any leads.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Sadownyk to contact Okotoks or Banff RCMP detachments.

“We are hoping that someone may have seen Kevin in Banff or perhaps given him a ride,” said RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters in a prepared statement. “We would like to hear from anyone with information that might help us find Kevin for his family."

Sadownyk is described as caucasian, five-feet, seven-inches tall and around 180 pounds. He has shoulder-length blond hair, with blue eyes and facial acne scarring.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, red baseball cap, and black shoes. He may also be wearing a gold earring in one ear.

Anyone with information in this matter is asked to call Okotoks RCMP at 403-995-6400 or Banff RCMP at 403-763-6600. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or online at www.tipsubmit.com.
