Dear Editor,

With respect to Matt Rockley’s April 5 column, I am personally unable to see how the following statement by Jason Kenney is controversial or even socially conservative: “I do, however, believe parents have a right to know what’s going on with their kids in the schools unless the parents are abusive.” Really Mr. Rockley?

What is so offensive about parental rights in our publicly funded education system? Is it even newsworthy that Mr. Kenney thinks that parents should know or have an input into what their children are doing at school? Utter nonsense. I am voting for Jason Kenney in the next election.

Maybe the news media should be focusing on how the Wildrose and Conservative party members have voted almost identically on issues in the past rather than trying to divide and conquer with their left wing snow job “reporting.”
