High River RCMP are hunting for an elderly duo who made off with a full load of groceries from the town’s Co-Op store on Friday.

Police responded to a report of theft from the Co-Op grocery store in High River around 2 p.m. on Feb 17.

A male suspect entered the store just before 2 p.m., leaving 10 minutes later with a cart filled with food, mostly meat. The man jumped into a vehicle outside the store, where another elderly male was waiting.

The couple fled the parking lot, nearly running over the store manager, who was attempting to stop the thieves.

The first male is described as bald, with bad teeth and some missing. He is approximately 65 years old and of slight build, and was wearing a dark sweatshirt with printing.

The second man, also about 65 years old, had wavy grey hair and was missing teeth. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket with an unidentified logo.

They escaped in a small, grey, older-model Toyota truck with a topper and broken windows on one side, with a possible Alberta licence plate J31735.
