Water main repairs along North Railway Street will impact water services and traffic in the area this weekend as crews look to fix a leak.

Construction will start on Saturday morning and work is expected to progress all weekend in Okotoks.

North Railway Street will remain open with flaggers to direct traffic, but drivers could face delays, while a portion of Daggett Street will be closed as workers look to detect and fix the leak.

The water main break will also affect water services in the area and the Okotoks Art Gallery and the Heritage House Museum and Archives will be closed until Feb. 28.

The town is still determining how many businesses and residents will be affected this weekend.

Joan Botkin, Okotoks communications manager, said they don’t know what caused the leak yet or how big it is.

“That’s what they’re doing now,” she said. “Until they get down there they’re not going to know.”

All scheduled programs and events at the gallery and museum will be rescheduled.

The Toddle Down to the Art Gallery program scheduled for Feb. 25 was rescheduled for March 18.

For updates and a map of roads that will be impacted, visit the Town’s website at Okotoks.ca or its Facebook page.
