Okotoks RCMP are investigating after a 43-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle collision at night on April 23.

At approximately 10:38 a.m. RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Big Rock Trail west of Okotoks.

A GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving eastbound when it failed to negotiate a curve.

The truck rolled into the east ditch and the driver was thrown from the truck.

The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the collision.

The roads were wet at the time.

However, Okotoks RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Ross said it’s still too early to tell what caused the rollover.

“Until we have concrete evidence it’s pretty hard for me to comment,” he said.

The name of the deceased driver is not being released until RCMP notify next of kin.
