The Canadian government is turning from Tory blue to Liberal red.

The Liberal Party has been forecast to form the next government and leader Justin Trudeau will become Canada’s next prime minister.

As of 8 p.m., the Liberal Party was elected or leading in 154 ridings, with the Conservatives behind with 89 seats so far. The NDP is sitting at 21, with the Bloc Quebecois trailing with 5 seats.

The results are slowly rolling in for the Foothills, with conservative candidate John Barlow sitting at 522 votes, followed by Liberal candidate Tanya MacPherson with 117 votes.

MacPherson said she is excited by the results so far. She said they are a vote against Conservative leader Stephen Harper.

“Wow, amazing, fantasic, relief,” she said of her feelings. “A lot of people were wary of Harper. It had nothing to do with the Conservative, too much power.”

More results to come through the night.
