The Foothills Falcons girls downed the Chestermere Lakers 73-50 March 8 at HTA in the 4A South Central three-team tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, the Holy Trinity Academy Knights edged the Lakers 65-62 on March 8.

With HTA and Foothills sharing a 1-0 record and the Lakers at 0-2, it was decided to make the final game, scheduled for tonight March 9 at HTA, the championship game. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.

It will be the first time the two Okotoks schools have met this season.

On the boys' side, the Foothills Falcons also downed the Lakers 73-48 on March 8.

The Knights had beaten the Lakers 77-66 the night before to set up the title showdown at HTA tonight.

As a result HTA and Foothills will square off for the boys 4A title tonight.

Tip-off is 7:15 p.m., shortly after the girls' game.

Saturday's scheduled championship games have been cancelled.

The Falcons beat the Knights 92-73 in a senior boys game in February.
