The Okotoks Minor Hockey Association presented a $200,000 cheque to town council on Monday to go towards the expansion of the Pason Centennial Arena. That is an incredible donation and it will be a huge help towards making the expanded Pason Centennial Arena a facility we can all be proud of. Congratulations and thank you to the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association.

The Okotoks Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards gala last Thursday was amazing. The Chamber of Commerce staff and volunteers worked hard to make it an evening to remember and they succeeded. Tanya Ryan performed for the crowd, that was worth the price of admission in itself.

Excellence in business is apparent every day here in Okotoks. It’s great that we had the opportunity to gather together and celebrate the remarkable businesses and business people in our town.

The Foothills Country Hospice gala last Saturday was so much fun. My wife Cory and I love going every year. This year the theme was Retro Wranglers and Rhinestones. Cory borrowed an authentic rodeo blouse from a friend that was made in Calgary in the 1960’s. It was shiny and bright purple with flowers embroidered on the shoulders. The white scarf and boots with fringe brought it all together. She looked amazing. I wore some old western clothes from Cory’s Grandpa.

Maddison Krebs sang at the gala and it was extremely moving. Her first song was one that she always sings when she is out entertaining the folks at the hospice.
