The 17th annual Okotoks Parade of Garage Sales is happening on Saturday, May 20! Last year there were 106 garage sales that participated in the parade and I anticipate that there will be just as many or more this year. If you have been thinking about having a garage sale this spring, this is the time to do it.
Please register at the Western Wheel office, 9 McRae Street before Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m. If you register before May 5 you will be entered into the early bird draw for one of two $50 gift cards from a local restaurant.
The registration fee is $20. As a registered participant you will receive two Parade of Garage Sales signs, the address of your garage sale will be included in the May 17 Western Wheel newspaper plus the mobile map. Best of luck to everyone on your garage sales!

I had a great time at the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at the Recreation Centre last weekend. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous Chamber of Commerce here in Okotoks and they sure know how to host an exciting business expo. There were over 150 vendors, new car show, food trucks and a festival of flavours on Saturday.
We gave away chocolates at the Western Wheel booth last year and it seemed like lots of other people had the same idea at their booth. This year we wanted to provide something different so we went out and got hundreds of little bags of cheddar Goldfish crackers.
It turned out to be a bit of a joke because the front-page story in the Western Wheel Weekend newspaper last Friday was about goldfish being spotted in the stormwater ponds again this spring.
