You’ve probably heard of the Masters golf tournament. It’s the one where the champion wins a blazer that’s the colour of turf. Today, August 24, there is a mini-Masters at the Crystal Ridge Golf Course. I don’t believe that there’s a blazer involved, but you can play mini golf for a great cause with all green fees for the day being donated to KidSport Okotoks. Children 13 and under can submit their scores and be entered to win an iPad mini!

This will be an action-packed weekend in Okotoks with the Foothills Highland Games taking place on Saturday, Aug. 27 and the Okotoks Pro Rodeo happening all weekend from Friday, Aug. 26 to Sunday Aug. 28.
The Canadian Masters Heavy Events Championships will be hosted at the Foothills Highland Games this year, which will be spectacular to watch. The highland dancing, bagpipe and highland band competitions are always stunning.
The Okotoks Pro Rodeo will feature all of the traditional rodeo events including bareback riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, mutton bustin, wild pony race, barrel racing, team roping and bull riding. In addition this year, there will be a trick riding performance by the Young Gunz Trick Riding Team. I’ve seen the photos and this performance looks amazing.
