A former Foothills Composite High School student was on a plane that went missing in B.C. while flying from Lethbridge to Kamloops.

A former Foothills Composite High School student was on a plane that went missing in B.C. while flying from Lethbridge to Kamloops.

Military search and rescue personnel with the Joint Search Co-ordination Centre in Victoria (JRCC) and Cranbrook RCMP are searching after the plane refuelled in Cranbrook and didn’t arrive at its final destination in Kamloops.

The plane was piloted by Alex Simons, 21, and his passenger was Sidney Robillard, 21, who attended the Foothills Composite and lives in Lethbridge.

According to an RCMP press release, the plane took off from Lethbridge on June 8 at 9:35 a.m. and stopped in Cranbrook to refuel. By 6:22 p.m. that evening, RCMP were notified the plane was missing or overdue. Cranbrook was the last known point of contact with the plane

The Piper aircraft involved in this incident has the call letters CGDTK.

RCMP ask anyone who may have information about this incident to contact their local RCMP detachment.
