The Okotoks Bottle Depot is making it easy for us donate to local charities.

Instead of putting your beverage containers into your blue bin, you could save them for the next local bottle drive, take the unwanted empties to the Okotoks Bottle Depot or call the Okotoks Bottle Depot staff to pick them up at your house!

All proceeds from the collection of unwanted beverage containers will be donated to local charities.

See page 3 for more information.

After high school I went on a big road trip in the states with one of my great pals. We drove down to Utah to visit his brothers and spent a few months skiing as often as our teenage budget would allow. From there we embarked on a road trip down to San Diego and then up the west coast to Vancouver and back home again.

We needed accommodations for the San Diego trip but we couldn’t afford hotels. We went to Wal-Mart in Salt Lake City to see if we could afford a tent. We got one for $14! It had a symbol on the packaging that showed two stick people inside a triangle.

Our first stop was west of Las Vegas and it was the middle of the night when we found a campsite. When we rolled out our new tent we were perplexed by the size of it.

It was a play tent meant for two small children. We laughed ourselves to sleep with our head and shoulders inside the tent, the rest of us extending out the door.
