Spruce meadows security personnel were attacked by a man with pepper spray after confronting him on the site last week.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, two security staff found a man acting suspicious. When approached, the man sprayed both security workers with bear spray, incapacitating them long enough to flee on foot.

The security workers were treated and released by EMS on scene and Okotoks RCMP responded.

Okotoks RCMP Sukh Randhawa said there isn’t any indication what instigated the incident.

“He looked suspicious, I don’t know what his intentions were,” he said. “When they [security] challenged him that’s when he took out the pepper spray and sprayed the security guards.”

Okotoks RCMP is looking for assistance identifying the suspect in this incident.

He is described as a Caucasian male in his late 40s to early 50s, between five-foot, eleven inches and six feet tall, weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He has a medium build, brown collar length hair, tanned skin and bright white teeth.

He was wearing a tan ball cap with the word ‘Windriver’, a blue collared shirt, a navy blue jacket, blue jeans and brown leather shoes.
