Armed robbery suspect arrested

A former B.C. resident was charged with armed robbery at an Okotoks bank Thursday afternoon. According to an RCMP press release, a man walked into the Okotoks branch of TD Bank at approximately 3 p.m. on Aug.

A former B.C. resident was charged with armed robbery at an Okotoks bank Thursday afternoon.

According to an RCMP press release, a man walked into the Okotoks branch of TD Bank at approximately 3 p.m. on Aug. 25 and produced a note demanding money from a teller. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the scene.

RCMP responded and made extensive patrols in the area to locate the male.

He was located near the Okotoks Public Library with the help of video surveillance and information provided by citizens.

The man was apprehended after a short-foot chase

No one was injured in the incident.

Police have charged 28-year-old Gareth Edward Denman, formerly of Cultus Lake BC, who now resides in Calgary, with robbery charges.
