Watch for some interesting phenomena in the heavens on the evening of July 5.

The waxing moon will appear to wedge itself between the blue/white star (SPICA) and Mars low in the southwest sunset sky. If we have a clear sky, it should be interesting.

I hope I havenít left it too late to encourage those of you who do not have lilacs to stop by our VNC and help yourself.

They do better if they are picked and they are quite beautiful.

Doris Daley will entertain at the Red Deer Lake United Church pancake breakfast on July 13 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Church service will follow.

The Stavely cowboy poetry gathering is July 11 Ė 13. Tickets are available at the door, so if you are a fan of cowboy music and poetry Iím sure you would enjoy it.

I hope you had a special Canada Day. There was no end of entertainment to choose from, especially the annual extravaganza at the Millarville Race Track.
