Foothills and Okotoks area residents will go to the polls on June 30 after the writ was dropped on the weekend.
The Conservative nominee is John Barlow, former assistant publisher and editor of the Okotoks Western Wheel.
Barlow ran in the 2012 provincial election as the PC candidate for Highwood. He was defeated by Wildrose leader Danielle Smith.
Fuller, an Okotoks resident, is a graduate of Holy Trinity Academy and currently works in the oil and gas industry in Calgary.
Fuller was student union president at the University of Lethbridge. He then went on to work for Elections Canada as a polling outreach worker and then went on to work political campaigns. He was campaign manager for former Lethbridge Liberal candidate Michael Cormican in 2011 and he was VP of fundraising for the Macleod Liberal electoral district association.
The June 30 Macleod byelection is due to the resignation of former MP Ted Menzies in November. It is one of four byelections being held in Canada on June 30.
The terms will be somewhat short-lived as a federal election is expected to be held in October of 2015.
Menzies, a former minister who held the Macleod riding seat since 2004 stepped down in November to become president and CEO of CropLife Canada.
