Neither political option very appealing

Dear Editor,

Well, Steady Eddie couldn't hack it - bailed early. Alison the Red Queen couldn't hack it - bailed early. It seems that in order to successfully stay on as leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta it requires a person sufficiently intellectually bloated and morally bankrupt to actually survive the toxic, vindictive, back-stabbing, survival-of-the-fattest culture that is the PC caucus. Any guesses who was the last person to demonstrate those attributes? Yep - the Ralphster - our former King.

These are sobering times indeed when it falls to Danielle Smith of the fringe Wildrose Party to provide the most elegant and thoughtful summation of this sorry state of affairs.

Forty-three years. Are we done yet? I never voted for these bozos in the first place, and I figure we'll anyway just end up with the same junk politics next time around, merely re-branded with a pretty pink flower. So I think I'll vote Tailgate Party when the writ next drops with a tired clunk - at least there's beer.
