Dear Editor,

The speed limit on Highway 762 is okay at 100 kph. I don't travel it too often, but when I do I try to keep to the speed limit. However, even at the current limit I find I am always tailgated at some point during the journey. I used to ride my motorcycle along it from time to time, but can no longer be bothered to put up with the tailgating from other motorists, so I just stopped using the road.

The residents want the limit kept down to deter noisy motorcycles, and I can't hold that against them, but to dress it up as a safety issue does not hold water in my view.

Speed limits generally, and in particular on the main travel corridors are far too low as it is. This is a huge country and if you went strictly to the posted limits it would take forever to get anywhere.
