I mentioned in a recent column about the scarcity of our bird population, and the January bird count bore that out. Joyce Moore tells us that the absence of redpolls, crossbills & grosbeaks could be the result of the abundance of the Arctic food supply, so that the birds donít have to come south to look for food. I was thrilled to have 10 Hungarian partridge under my feeder today. I am really missing my feathered friends this year, thank goodness for the occasional blue jay with its glorious splash of color.

The line dancers will dance from 9 Ė 11 on January 30, to accommodate setup for the luncheon and annual meeting.

Iím often asked about beginner bridge lessons, and I see that Priddis is teaching an 8 week course beginning February 13. Contact person is Lynne Osborne at 403-931-2923. I started a course at SCAC on Tuesday. All Things Paper is going to be so much fun.
