One child was taken to hospital and received stitches on his hand after a bus going to Red Deer Lake School tipped west of Priddis Tuesday morning.

“There were some scrapes and bruises and one child was taken to the hospital for stitches,” said Foothills School Division spokesman Drew Chipman.

There were six students on the bus when the mishap occurred on Tuesday just before 8 a.m.

“The driver pulled over to let a car pass and when they started up again they slipped and tilted over,” Chipman said.

All but one of the students had gone home with a guardian by 12:30 p.m.
