The Longview Library will be holding its annual used book sale at the Artís and Music Festival, Aug. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be fiction and non-fiction, paperbacks, trade backs and hard covers. Look for us in the artistís tent. We have a wonderful selection, and there will be lots of people on hand to help you if you need it. See you there.
New books in the library are Death as a Fine Art by Gwendolyn. She is a Canadian mystery writer, and this one takes place in Vancouver and the Gulf Islands. Others are Trails and Lovers by Alexander McCall Smith and Run, Brother Run by David Berg (writer and lawyer), a true account of his own brotherís murder.
A suggestion for your summer reading is Tell It To the Trees by Anita Rau Badami, an award winning Canadian author. It is the story of an East Indian family living in a small northern Canadian town. One freezing winter morning a dead baby is found in the front yard of the Dharmaís family house. We are captivated by the dangers and the tragedies the characters suffer, but also by the love with which they are touched.
