The annual meeting went well. We have a couple of changes to the executive. Our new secretary is Carol McCreary and I have been added as an additional director. The standing committee chairmen remain initially the same but for Steve Hajash, who will be replacing Ham Kirkpatrick on maintenance and the addition of Fritz Peyerl as exercise program co-ordinator. There will be no general meeting in February.

The exercises classes are really taking shape and, hopefully, so are the participants. It is 45 minutes of, sometimes, not so gentle activity. I think we are all feeling it is beneficial.

I’m sure you have all read of the passing of Ann Cross. There was a beautiful tribute to her in last weeks’ Western Wheel. The Cross Conservation project will be enjoyed in perpetuity, thanks to the generosity of Ann and Sandy.

The saga of Willi Craciun continues. He has now been awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship, which is one of the highest honours handed out by Lion’s International. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
