Dear Editor,

A bouquet of Christmas cheer (all year round) to the Christmas Spirit who decorated trees along the river east of the library in Okotoks. Thank you for sharing your spirit of the season with all who walked there.

At the request of a young couple we were privileged to take their picture smiling happily beside one of your trees. I know a lot of people got a smile out of your efforts.

But today as we walked that route I was saddened to see the ornaments smashed on the pathway.

What a shame. The Christmas Grinch, Scrooge or somebody equally miserable must have been on a power trip, showed how tough they were by breaking easily broken ornaments.

Shame on you.

To you I wish a bouquet of poison ivy with skunk oil thrown in for good measure all for you. You really deserve it.

I just hope someone like you can’t really smash the Christmas spirit in others as easily as you smashed the ornaments.
