Young and old alike will be taken back to the time of Ogo Pogo and the mighty dragon
during this year's Youth Festival.
Situated in the Ethel Tucker Centennial Park on June 19, young and old are invited
to come down and discover the legends of long ago as the Okotoks Youth Festival highlights
'Legends in the Park.'
Starting at noon, the festival will feature a variety of crafts using such media
as wire and clay. Each of the crafts, such as a beaded gecko, are symbolic of a legend.
However, the only way to discover the legend of the beaded gecko and many others
is to attend the festival.
It is hoped that children and adults will attend the festival.
Entertainment will continue throughout the day and will feature such performers as
Three Left Feat dance group; the Goodtime Train Man: Alex Mahe; the Queen Storytime
Theatre; the Red Smarteez Marionettes as well as Shifty Sheriff, Rainbow Kid and
Lasso Lily.
Popular storytellers will relay some tall tales everyone is sure to enjoy.
A concession will also be available.
Admission to the festival is $1 which will help to cover the costs of the festival.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
Be sure to come out to the Okotoks Youth Festival, which itself is becoming a legend.
